衛福部疾管署曾發出新聞稿說明:「喝溫水可殺死病毒是沒有科學實證根據的方法。如果感染流感,建議盡速就醫,聽從醫生指示,服用抗病毒藥物治療,才是治療流感正確的方式。」
而維他命C能預防或治療一般感冒(common cold)或流行感冒(influenza,簡寫為flu),是Linus Pauling博士在1970年代所提出來的“理論”(沒有臨床證據)。定期服用維他命C補充劑只會稍微減少感冒的時間和嚴重程度,並沒有預防或治療的功能。
